4 7th's of Soul

A schema for analyzing different systematic teachings or doctrines about Soul can be obtained by intersecting two lines to map any imaginary point on a four-space grid:

NW ........NE

SW ........ SE

The point of intersection is taken to mark the centre, the four conventional north-south-east-west letters to mark the corners of an enclosed TokenSpace (abv. TknSpc: =container of (a) universe of discourse).

Now let the number sign 7 stand in each of the four quadrants nearest the center, as if it marked where their identity, as 7's, converged in TknSpc.

In order to interpret this drawing into into a schema of Soul, let the 7's stand for "7ths", where a 7th is:

--the last member of a cumulative series through the ordinal numbers, first, second, third, etc., specifically, as illustrated in nature by the intervals of vibration of sound marked by the notes of the 7 tone octave.

The 4 doctrines of Soul onto which this schema are interpreted here are: NW - Plato; NE - Christianity; SW - Consciousness*; SE - Gurdjieff. For other purposes, these four quadrants are marked NW -- III; NE - II; SW - I; SE IV. By this second marking, the series I - II - III - IV draws a bow-tie "in - out" loop, in from bottom left through upper right, upper left, out through lower right. This is the order used to reach the 7th of Consciousness.

The Four corners are then taken as marking Completions of the unit 1-2-3-4-5-6- to the center. If they are taken as laid out in a square (-50) of fourty nine squares, the bow-tie loop passes through all as Container of Containers (DO to DO through the interval of notes RE MI FA SOL LA TI).

The next step is to specify the 7ths of the converging octaves.

III. Plato --- the 7th is: thought centered on eternal forms mirrored in the sky. (Timaeus)

II. Christianity -- Father's Son through Mary by the Holy Spirit, reborn in those who come to Him as the Spirit leads.

I. Consciousness -- Completion of the totality of articulate content under a single sign (Soul -- linked to "God" in II., and Remorse of Conscience, in IV.)

IV. Gurdjieff -- The energy coated as the Kesdjan body, unifying the functions of the three brains and with the cosmos through time.

I will not put in the 6 notes leading from the corners to the center, but do wish to illustrate how the schema is useful for analytical diagnostic. .

What has happened to Soul in America under GW Bush, I want to hold - to America's Soul -- can be analyzed in metaphysical terms as substituting false Soul totalities for Consciously articulated notes. The language of self-reference, of "WE, AMERICANS", as been coopted and used for preventive war and preemptive strikes against phantom enemies-by-name. These false totalities block entry of the finest cosmic energies required for completing the human totality, and connecting him/her to the center of being.
